Calm after the storm?

If you live in Washington, DC and its surrounding areas, then you are used to Spring showers and storms. But two days ago we all experienced scary moments when on Wednesday June 4 a huge storm hit the area.

It was kind of nerve-wracking: trees were shaken like if they were made of paper, and rain poured like a non-stop shower, while streets were emptied as people run to cover themselves and loud thunders hit the ground like bombs. It was not good at all. And as usual, I didn't have an umbrella with me, so by the time I got home, I was soaked wet.

Here are two videos I found online. They were recorded in Aldie and Fairfax, northern Virginia and in the outskirts of Washington, DC. A young tree was knocked down in what the news said was a tornado warning, and the second video has a bit of useful info.

Yesterday and today it's been sunny and nice, and DC's steaming summer heat seems to be almost here. I am so ready for the hot temperatures. The calm came after the storm in this case, we'll see for how long.
