NBC and the Beijing 2008 opening ceremony

I'm watching the opening ceremony for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Amazing show put by the Chinese! Awesome, really.

But right now during the Parade of Nations, those NBC commentators are doing a lousy job, making stupid comments about the way how sportsmen and sportswomen from other countries look like. They are making fun of anything that isn't European, and honestly it is really bad.

While they showed Bush and his wife for too long (even when he was playing with the US flag in his legs) but they cut some countries delegations short, for what? So they can play boring and useless advertising publicity, that I think nobody even pays attention to.

NBC kind of ruined for me the beautiful ceremony of inauguration of the Olympic Games. I swear. I'm so upset they didn't show the delegation of Peru, my first country for more than 1.5 seconds. Damn. That is some arrogant bullshit!

Fine, I like the US team and I'm rooting for them, but it doesn't make sense to waste time showing the Americans backs as they walked away, and then hide other countries delegations completely.

NBC needs to get some worldly sense of doing things when it comes to international events. I know you are paying lots of money for this, but your audience deserves respect, some of us are not only focused in the US team (and you promote cultural isolation within your viewers when you show only the American team with enough time.

There are people who are watching who want to see every and each of the nations represented in the Olympics. It's not called the US games, in case you haven't noticed - this is an international competition event, dude.

WHAT NBC CUT OFF
