Maybe we will be affected but maybe it won't be so bad. Perhaps this is necessary, because it looks like the US economy is failing and the end of the American empire is coming soon.
And as it has always been, decadence brings humanity into a new age. So maybe this is time for a real change -not talking about Obama here- a transformation that will end corrupt and savage capitalism for once.
Because meanwhile the United Nations nations have collected $16 billion dollars for the Goals of the Millennium Development program -to get 500 million people out of extreme poverty by 2015- the bankers of Wall Street want $700 billion dollars for their own pockets, when they already have way too much!
With that money the world can disappear world poverty now!
So in this day, we are either begin a really hard time in human history, or we will build another kind of society. I say no people, don't let the rich guys get more power and get richer than ever. Bush and his friends should not get away with their abuses any more.
Tomorrow we must stand up and say NO TO THE BILLIONAIRES BAILOUT!
Join DC Jobs with Justice and allies in the struggle for social and economic justice to demand REAL economic reform that puts Main Street before Wall Street.
WHAT: As part of a national day of action, "Billionaires for the Bailout" are meeting in the heart of Washington D.C. and making a special visit to their favorite banks that stand to make a profit from the proposed bailout.
Come join the crowd of community members saying NO to the Billionaire's proposal and YES to a real economic recovery package.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 1st
12pm-1pm
WHERE: Farragut Square - near 17th St NW
Washington, DC (outside Bank of America)
WHO: DC Jobs with Justice coalition members, faith leaders, civic leaders, students, community members, and people opposing the proposed bailout
VISUALS: Signs, Banners, "Stop Corporate Greed" posters, and lively street theater!
This week, in a "fast-tracked" process similar to the one that brought us the Patriot Act, Congress tried to pass a horrendous give-away package to greedy and unscrupulous bankers and corporate interests who created the conditions and mess we're currently in. In a time when America wants a new direction, new politics, and new ideas to move us forward, we're seeing Washington play their same old-games at the expense of the American taxpayer.
This Wednesday, labor, faith, student, and community activists will hold protest actions across the country to demand No Wall Street Bailout and call for a real Main-Street-First economic recovery plan instead. For a listing of events visit;
